Outplacement
Providing outplacement services to separating employees
is not just the responsible thing to do; outplacement also makes sound
business sense. The quality of one’s experience with an outplacement
provider affects how separated employees, your remaining staff, and even
your community will judge your company.
For the person being terminated, finding new employment and dealing with
issues of self-worth and pride can be overwhelming – unless they
are guided by an experienced outplacement counselor. With outplacement,
they are much more likely to find a fulfilling and appropriate job, and
find it faster. That kind of success reduces the length of unemployment,
as well as the terminated employee’s financial difficulties and
emotional stress. It also reduces the likelihood that the employee would
resort to a termination-related lawsuit.
It's about the Relationship
We've been working with companies, large and small, in all industries,
since 1992 to help them transition their people. We've developed long-standing
relationships with most of our clients and enjoy an extremely high client-satisfaction
rating.
In addition to providing outplacement, we can help you plan your termination
process, prepare your managers for the separation meetings, and be on
site during notification to quickly transition your departing employees.
“The Golden Rule in its simplest form
states, ‘treat others as you would want to be treated.’
This precept could not apply more than when a company must lay off a
portion of its workforce. We faced a layoff in 2001 for the first time
in our 37-year history and had no experience with such a process. Posti
& Associates put together a process that considered the needs of
those affected by the layoff and allowed CTR to apply The Golden Rule.
They diligently coached employees on how to search for new positions
or careers and provided all the necessary support for what was indeed
a tremendously stressful period. We have used Posti & Associates
for our ongoing outplacement needs and plan to do so should the occasion
for outplacement arise again.”

Outplacement Needs Have Changed
Today's displaced professionals are likely to have a home computer with
Internet access. Outplacement clients no longer need an outplacement firm
to provide them with office space and access to office equipment. Rather
than providing office space and typists, we focus on providing what they
really need – one-on-one guidance from an experienced outplacement
consultant, who creates an action plan tailored to their unique needs,
and works with them to reach their goals as quickly as possible.
"A note of thanks to you for your assistance
in helping me to get connected to the right people who led me to the
right job! You were a powerhouse of motivation and a source of great
information. I applaud you and I thank you."
— C.D., Marketing Manager
Our Approach to Outplacement
We recognize that someone who has been downsized isn't in the best frame
of mind to attend cookie-cutter group seminars to learn new skills like
resume writing and Internet job search techniques. Instead, we work individually
alongside each person to help with their unique needs.
"Your help and advice have been such
a blessing to me! I am grateful for your counsel and help. Thank you
so much for enabling me to find my life’s work."
— C.W., University Professional
Outplacement Packages
Although we work with all types of employees, the majority of our outplacement
clients are experienced managers, executives, and professionals. We provide
outplacement for a very reasonable monthly fee, and for the number of
months chosen by the employer.
“It’s never easy when an employee/position
mismatch becomes evident. As a manager with P&L responsibility you
are compelled to take action. But you also want to handle the situation
with respect and care for the affected employee. Anyone familiar with
small companies knows that a dedicated HR department is often an unaffordable
luxury. By outsourcing our outplacement needs to Posti & Associates,
we have been able to leverage their vast experience in meeting both
of the above needs, resulting in 100% success. I count on Chris Posti
Tice to provide advice before, during and after outplacement/replacement
assignments, and highly recommend Chris’s company for this and
other HR projects.”
